Neighborhood peeps (noun and verb)

Under pretext of dropping off bags of avocados (actually, this was the truth - 5 bags of the stuff were forced on given away to our neighbors), I got some shots of the street.  Lock your doors, or hope you like guac!

This is a shot of Julie's yard from the outside perimeter.  We began planting out our yards at about the same time, so I have massive yard envy going.  Note to self: regular watering and fertilizing works.

Depending on whom you ask, our neighborhood used to be a macadamia orchard or an avocado orchard.  Considering the embarrassing amount of avocados in fruit throughout the area (fruit porn everywhere - warn the kids), I'd go with the avocado story.  Then again, why would macadamia plants pop up in the weirdest places?  I have a volunteer somewhere in the lower jungle (probably now mutated into something that eats small dogs given how fecund it is down there), and there are several growing in my neighbor John's side yard:
